Manufactured from polyolefins and paraffin waxes, Parafilm M combines elasticity with chemical resistance. It adheres to glass, plastic and metal labware, providing a protective barrier against evaporation and contamination. With a service temperature range from –45 ºC to +50 ºC (melting point +60 ºC), it performs reliably in routine laboratory environments. The film is resistant to saline solutions, most common inorganic acids and bases, and solvents such as methanol, ethanol and 2-propanol. It is not resistant to diethyl ether, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, benzene or toluene.
